The chief aim of the Water Management and Water Resources Protection course is to develop comprehensively trained personnel for various levels of administration and the institutions and laboratories dealing with water management, as well as personnel who deal with the protection of water resources (living and non-living resources). During the course, students learn the laws that rule the circulation of water in nature and the methods of its monitoring; learn about comprehensive water management in Poland and Europe, learn the methods of managing conservation processes. Furthermore, they learn to take and interpret hydrological, hydrochemical and hydrobiological measurements in the field and in the laboratory, to make out hydrological documentation, water resources assessments and water supply forecasts for the population and selected branches of industry and also to assess the economic value of living and non-living water resources.
