The aim of sociology is to research the way society functions and the changes it undergoes. Sociologists deal with examining the social rules, processes and structures, which impact people in various ways by creating relationships between them. These mechanisms bring people together and divide them, create or are a symptom of the ties between individuals and also illustrate the process by which they change.
Sociologists are both interested in the individual who is involved in a social group, but also in interpersonal relations e.g. family, community, associations or unions. Interpersonal relations working in a social dynamic can lead to the forming of social groups, institutions and even entire societies or become divided because of social disproportions.
