The course provides know-how about the rules of regional development in the European Union and the instruments of regional policy which, following Poland’s accession to the EU, are an important tool for impacting the development of regions: voivodships, poviats and municipalities. One of the important features of the course is to teach students specific application options, the procedures involved when filing applications for Structural Funds for the support of projects and the assignments and responsibilities related to project management.
The students obtain theoretical knowledge (illustrated with examples of good practices and positive experiences from EU regions). This is an introduction to practical classes which are highly emphasised. The classes take place in the form of workshops during which the students write specific applications for support from the Structural Funds. Such draft applications may be written individually or in small groups.
