The curriculum of the first cycle course in Conducting intends to provide students with the practical and theoretical knowledge of conducting and the skills for leading a symphonic orchestra, chamber orchestra and/or a vocal and instrumental group. The course trains for active music work in cultural institutions, the media and for broadly understood popularisation of culture among the public at large. A second cycle course make one a qualified musician in broadly understood creative conducting and provide the musical knowledge to (among other things): conduct rehearsals and concerts with a symphonic orchestra, chamber orchestra, opera orchestra, with a vocal and instrumental group and a choir; independently run artistic institutions (e.g. opera, philharmonic orchestra); develop the repertory of such institutions; define the strategy of regional or city cultural development.
