The Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Gdańsk offers a medicine course in English for candidates from throughout the world. Classes take place within the English Division, where all the lectures, seminars and practical classes take place exclusively in English and the tutelage is based on European and American standards which meet the accreditation criteria of the European Union.
The number of classes and their scheduling is a copy of the Polish language programme and the course is 6 years (12 semesters) long. The division has a highly qualified teaching staff which provides a high quality of tutelage. Today, the English Division has 434 students from, among others, the countries of the European Union, USA, Canada, India and Nigeria.
Upon graduation students receive a medical doctor’s diploma (M.D.), which gives them the right to apply for a license to practice medicine in their own country. Graduates can also apply for continuing their education with a 4-year post-graduate study course concluded with the obtaining of a doctor of medical sciences (Ph. D.) degree.
