The chief aim of the course is to prepare students to take up a professional career in and consciously and competently participate in shaping the space which provides the framework for the lives of individuals and social groups. It also prepares for a professional career in various auxiliary fields in architecture and urban planning, in project teams and in tandem with specialists from other technical fields.
Graduates know about the history and theory of architecture and urban planning, the fine arts, construction and building technologies, structure, the physics of buildings and about architectural and urban planning design. They know and can use technical and building regulations, together with methods for the organising and carrying out investment processes. They have the skill to gather information, develop the human environment according to functional needs–with consideration for the needs of disabled persons–and to develop projects which meet aesthetic, functional and technical demands.
