The world of projects is a fascinating an exciting world where there is always something new and there is no chance of boredom. This world can also be a source of stress, frustration and failure. Therefore, a lot depends on whether we can control it and whether we can control the events related to it. Statistics show that carrying out IT projects is especially risky, as only one-third of them are ultimately successful. The aim of the course is to equip project managers with the knowledge of the key success factors and threats related to the running of IT projects, effective IT project management strategies and techniques, tried and tested in practice and taught by persons with experience in the subject. Lectures are accompanied by exercises in using the acquired skills in practice. The next step is to use these skills in working on projects in workshops. The course provides the broadest and most up-to-date set of tools skills and knowledge on managing projects related to IT, especially: • learning and understanding the role of the manager and project team at every stage of the project’s life-cycle, • learning the techniques and tools to direct every stage of the project, • learning the techniques of customer requirement identification, defining the goals and expectations of stakeholders and the most effective organising and use of the project teams work possible, • using project management tools to finish the work in time and within budget. The curriculum is helpful to persons preparing for Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®), Project Management Professional (PMP®) and PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP®) certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI®). This course is directed to persons who deal with projects every day, project managers who want to broaden their knowledge of project management and to persons who intend to manage projects in the future.
