The aim of this post-graduate course in Speech Therapy is to comprehensively train students to work as general speech therapists and provide them with a basis to specialise in neurologopaedics and surdologopaedics. The curriculum emphasises the psychological aspects in speech therapy and the possibility of direct contact with patients during internships in educational institutions, psychological-pedagogical clinics and speech therapy offices. Graduates are also trained to work with specialist medical and psychological institutions and non-school organisations. Furthermore, the aim of the course is to provide the students with the knowledge and skills in the prophylaxis, protection and therapy of speech disorders and with the competence to provide aid to families of children undergoing speech therapy.
The course is open to first and second cycle college graduates in all liberal arts, medical and health sciences specialities with pedagogical training as well as teachers already working as speech therapists who wish to acquire the qualifications of a general speech therapist. There is a speech examination for persons who never had contact with speech therapy before.
