The course provides knowledge about the language, literature and culture of the Italian-speaking world. Graduates should know Italian at the C1 level (first cycle course) and the C2 (second cycle course) level, and specialist Italian to a degree necessary for them to work in their profession. They should have interdisciplinary competence, which allows them to take advantage of their knowledge of the language and language skills in various areas of learning and society. Depending on the completed specialisation, the course prepares its graduates for work for publishing houses, on editorial staffs, the mass media, tourism and for services which require a good command of the language and culture and also to work as teachers upon the completion of a teaching speciality course, whereas the translation studies specialisation prepares students to work as translators.
