The Ateneum University in Gdańsk is a friendly and open liberal arts and social studies college. The university’s name refers to the best traditions of Gdansk Gymnasium, which was founded in Gdansk as early as in 1558, later to be called the Gdansk Ateneum throughout the 17th and 18th centuries.
Our college takes active part in the present-day life of our region. We also work in partnership with many institutions in Poland and abroad. We provide our students with the best possible conditions to consider their future career plans through our professional internship programmes and we continuously update the programme of our Professional Activity Centre.
We build understanding of intercultural issues at special meetings and conferences dedicated to the cultures of different nations. We also teach foreign languages.
A high academic level is guaranteed by our professors, who are always keen to share their knowledge and experience in lectures and tutorials and also supervise the students’ scientific associations at our college.
The Ateneum University in Gdańsk holds academic conferences and seminars, meetings with interesting persons from the worlds of politics and culture. We also promote an active lifestyle with sports and recreational activities organised with the active participation of the members of the Student Parliament and the Academic Sports Club.
Our spacious and comfortable auditoriums with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, computer room, foreign language learning rooms, library with an academic information section and a cutting-edge radio and television studio are just some of the facilities we provide our students at the Ateneum University in Gdańsk.
The Ateneum University in Gdańsk pays close attention to the current needs of the job market. All are programmes are systematically adapted to the requirements of potential employers. It is exactly because of our college’s Quality Commission’s close partnership with business that the graduates of the Ateneum University in Gdańsk perform so well in their professional careers. Besides specific knowledge and skills, our students learn to be flexible; we help them to develop their pastimes and interests by combining them with our teaching. It is thanks to such enthusiasts who run our Ateneum Student Radio where you can tune in and listen to a live show by our students every Wednesday.
The Ateneum University in Gdańsk has signed many agreements for student internships with such institutions as: Polish Television, TVN, Radio Gdańsk and other radio stations, newspapers, local government institutions, businesses, kindergartens, schools, day-care centres, etc. Our Professional Activity Centre has the mission to career development of our students and graduates, to prepare them for entering the job market and to facilitate their contact with staff-seeking employers; the Centre runs a continuously updated job offer database. The Centre also helps our students and graduates prepare and compile application documents and help them to prepare for their job interviews.
