During the 5-year course students acquire knowledge about the fine arts with special emphasis on the theory and history of painting. They obtain the skills to use traditional painting technologies and techniques, together with other modern means of artistic expression. They also learn the basics of using the most popular graphic software. They acquire the ability to analyse art phenomena in their contemporary and historical aspects. Their comprehensive education – with the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge in their chose discipline – ensures their preparedness for an independent professional career. Students of Painting are trained in easel painting and diverse related techniques. Art in Public Spaces, a new speciality at the Faculty of Painting, considerably expands the notion of the classic painting by disseminating it across diverse media, scales and spaces.
